The Skipper’s Daughter

The round daughter of Skipper McVickers
Endured years of ridicule and snickers,
Until the ship hit a squall
And she delivered them all,
By hoisting aloft her huge knickers.

A squall is a brief, strong wind, often accompanied by precipitation. According to Wikipedia, not until 1962 did the term have a very specific, measurable definition. That year, the World Meteorological Organization established an increase of 8 meters per second (18 mph) topping out at 11 meters per second (25 mph) for a full minute.
