Emu Stew

Eating emu’s not easy or cheap,
They run fast, kick hard, and can leap;
They know, they’re so clever,
That nobody’s ever
Got a pot that’s two meters deep.

According to Wikipedia, the emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) is the second-tallest living bird after the ostrich, its ratite relative. It is endemic to Australia. Emus are soft-feathered, brown, flightless birds with long necks and legs. They have claws that can disembowel a person. They can jump taller than they stand, around 1.9 meters (6 ft 3 in). Emus can travel great distances, and when necessary can sprint at 48 km/h (30 mph).
